Obama party - March 2

Hi Friends!

We just signed up to host a "Yes We Can" Obama party run by MoveOn.org Political Action.

Sunday, 2 Mar 2008, 4:00 PM

We'll be reminding Texas voters about the critical Democratic primary on March 4, which could decide the race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
This event is really important, and I'd love for you to attend.

Bring your cell phone, charger and something to eat/drink!
This is a fun-raiser not a fund-raiser!

You can sign up for the "Yes We Can" Obama party we're hosting, or to host your own, at:

Sorry to hear that Peg has suffered the indignity of being out of commission. But happy to know that she has the courage & stamina to get back on her feet in time for these election campaigns that can keep the blood curdling. Right on for a Democratic win to the White House. In other words a Speedy Recovery to Peg. JSOCM

. . . Didn't know about the heart attack til I heard from Peg last week.

Thinking of you as I prepare for my Mar 10th Concert. Don't tell Peg -- I'm a Hillary supporter (she has been a terrific senator for us here) but have no problems with Obama, who went to Law School with a supersensational gal who went to Michigan and is off in Rwanda and whose parents are close friends of mine.

Love,
Lois

Please give Peg my very best wishes. My friend Waltraut Nelson and I first met her in on a China trip (when she was just spring chickenpf about 90!) and she visited us once on our little island of Tierra Verde (next to St. Petersburg). We read about everything she does with amazement - and wish her many more years of activity and activism.

Best regards,

Dear Friends,

I have applied to become a delegate, on behalf of Barack Obama, to the Democratic National Convention in August. A few days ago I received notice from the Florida Democrats that I am an official candidate, listed on the delegates’ ballot. In order to be elected as a delegate I must receive a sufficient number of votes from registered Democrats in District 7 (which includes St. John’s County).

I am writing to ask if you would be willing to attend the District 7 “caucus” to cast your votes on my behalf. If I am elected I will vociferously advocate, to all who will listen, my very strong views on ending the American occupation of Iraq and opposing Bush policies regarding such things as pre-emptive war, tax freedom for the wealthy, the obscene military budget, corruption, torture, civil liberties, the environment/global warming, and the neglect of science, education and national infrastructure.

The voting for delegates will take place from 9:00 AM until 12:15 PM on Saturday March 1. The location is the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, 20 Airport Road, Palm Coast. You will need a photo ID and proof of your registration as a Democrat. Sonda and I will take our two cars to the caucus, departing from our home at about 8 AM. We will be happy to take as many as seven additional passengers. I will also try to collect of list of others who may be driving and line up transportation for all who need it.

Also, please note that in order to vote you must be in line at 9:00 AM when registration to vote in the caucus closes. In other words, if you are not in line by 9 AM they won’t let you vote. For more information please see the attached files from the Florida Democratic Party.

Directions from St. Augustine: Go South on I-95 about 14 miles. Merge onto Florida Route 100 via exit 284. Proceed West (i.e., to the right from I – 95) on Rte 100 for 1.7 miles. Turn left on Airport Road and go 0.1 miles to the voting site at 20 Airport Road.

Please let me know if you will be able to participate at the caucus and if you need transportation.

I am deeply grateful for your consideration.

All the Best

Hi Peggy,

i’ve just read this email. I didn’t know of your heart attack but I’m happy to read that you’re doing better.

You are just incredible, always full of life and busy. I really hope your “Yes we can” Obama party of the next 2 march will be a succesfull one. If I could vote for sure Obama will be my favourite candidate, and I really hope he will be next Usa president. The news and information I get here in Italy from him and his great wife impress me, and I think together they have the capacity to do a great job for Usa and the world…

I’m always positive to think I will have the chances to meet and hug you and also to present you Laura, the wife I always dreamed and that I was so lucky to marry, and to love for ever.

xxooxx

I loved seeing all of you Sunday also.

Peggy, you look wonderful. I was so pleasantly surprised at how beautiful, and full of life you are having just had the heart attack. You as always are an inspiration.

I look forward to coming back down soon and having dinner with you three and I will bring Marco and Alexander. I will be in touch.

I did some calling yesterday for Barack from his web site. I called Ohio women and received a good response. I am really hoping for him to become the democratic nom tonight!!

Much love,

Donna
